Set in 80 hectares, Orana Wildlife Park is New Zealand's only
open range zoo. Visitors can experience unique, up close encounters
with endangered animals: hand feed Giraffe, see Tigers search for
their food, meet Rhino 'face-to-face' and travel through the
African Lion Reserve on a specially modified vehicle for extremely
close views of the 'King of Beasts' (conditions apply). Fifteen
scheduled animal feeds occur daily. Visitors can enjoy the antics
of Monkeys, Meerkats, Otters and many more interesting animals. An
extensive native fauna section includes Kiwi - New Zealand's
national icon. A wide range of native birds and stunning reptiles
are on show and the Park has one of the most comprehensive
collections of native geckos. Visitors can pet friendly Farmyard
animals. Guided tours occur throughout the day. A café and gift
shop is located on-site. Orana Wildlife Park provides the ultimate
wildlife adventure.
