Methven Heliski is the closest heliskiing operation to
Christchurch. Established in 1986, we offer arguably NZ's best
high-alpine terrain for skiers and snowboarders.
We operate every fine winter day (July to September) in the
Arrowsmith Range. Our helicopter pad is based at Genfalloch
Station, a working high country sheep farm.
All Methven Heli's guides are qualified through the IFMGA/NZMGA.
We have an international reputation for great terrain, and a focus
on guest safety and professional service.

Methven Heliski's heliskiing and heli-snowboarding adventures
are just 1.5 hours from Christchurch.
Every fine winter day (July-September) we ski and board in the
Arrowsmith's - offering arguably the best range of heli-skiing and
heliboarding terrain in New Zealand's Southern Alps.
The standard package features 5 runs. Our terrain includes:
- Runs for all standards of heliboarder and heliskier - beginner
to expert
- Average vertical drop approx 850 vertical metres
- Over 250 named runs, 3 mountain ranges, and over
1,0002 kilometres of mountains to roam
- "In your face" views along the Southern Alps to Mount Cook
If 5 runs aren't enough, maximise your heliskiing vertical with
affordable extra runs. Packages also include multi-day heliski
trips, and private charter heliskiing.
Methven Heli began in 1986, led by Alpine Guides, pioneers of NZ
heliskiing at Mt Cook. Director and lead guide Kevin Boekholt is
one of the most experienced heli-ski guides in the world.

Every fine day 01 July – 30 September Office Open 07:00 – 08:00 and 16:00 to 18:00.
Directions
The office is located on Main Street, Methven, next to the cinema. Driving directions to Glenfalloch helipad will be provided if guests wish to self-drive.

Bring a small backpack for your sunscreen, and gloves/clothing. Don’t forget your camera. This is an experience you want to remember.
We Provide
Guide services, optional transport to the helipad, and avalanche transceivers. A gourmet lunch is prepared fresh each day at Glenfalloch.
Transport
We offer free transport to Glenfalloch helipad. Guests can also self-drive. A 4WD vehicle is recommended.
