Kaiapoi is a picturesque Rivertown, and proud to be the
gateway to the Waimakariri district.
Few small towns can offer the range of sporting and leisure
pursuits including fishing, white baiting, golf, cycling &
walking tracks and well manicured reserves.
Just 20kms north of Christchurch, a town in its own right since
1857, with an ever-increasing population.
Kaiapoi's famous resident is the MV Tuhoe Schooner, sitting
proudly on the river in the centre of town.
Kaiapoi spans the Kaiapoi River, which draws from the Cam River,
Kaikanui and Courtenay Streams.
What makes Kaiapoi special?

cafes, florists, to one of the last family owned department stores
in NZ. Fine antique furniture is manufactured locally, along
with our own distillery fine ales through to whiskey.
