The NZ Alpine and Agricultral Encounter in Methven is a must-see
attraction. Visitors will gain a new appreciation of the 'Kiwi
psyche', as they are encouraged to drive a header, operate an
excavator, learn how milk is made and turn wheat into flour. The
Encounter highlights some of the unique developments in agriculture
which have made Kiwis world famous for their 'number eight wire
ingenuity'.
Then head into the 'mountains' and discover how snow is made,
explore an ice-cave and enjoy some of the lighter moments in New
Zealand's snowsports history. Be inspired by the sheer guts and
determination used by early skiers to establish ski fields in our
mountains, and then to compete at ski racing on the world stage
