Kaikoura Express Returns

14 November 2018

Kaikoura Express has returned for the summer season 2018/19, with its daily return service from Christchurch to Kaikoura with the aim to provide a quality customer experience and to increase frequency, commuters and visitors to the Kaikoura District and the wider Canterbury region.

Red Travel launched Kaikoura Express in the summer of 2017 in recognition to the continued growth of the FIT market within New Zealand and the Canterbury Region and the excitement around Kaikoura future.

The point to point service has returned for 2018 and also partnered with Encounter Kaikoura & Whale Watch Kaikoura to offer special packages including transportation options.

The down to earth and ‘kiwi style’ service will still offer its scenic photo shop with seals, quick points of interest on route and the ability to be collected from accommodation zones along (including the airport) are a key point of difference when traveling with Kaikoura Express.

Paul McNoe, Red Bus Chief Executive says ‘We see a bright future for the Kaikoura region and Red Travel has been part of the Canterbury Tourism Scene for many years now. The Kaikoura Express also compliments our Akaroa Shuttle service. We are delighted to be able to return to Kaikoura and the partnerships with both Encounter Kaikoura, Whale Watch Kaikoura and the support of Destination Kaikoura has been invaluable. As a business and as people we are passionate about the region, the locals and encouraging visitors back to Kaikoura.”

Red Travel is a division of Christchurch’s Iconic Red Bus Urban passenger transport company. Red Travel is endorsed by New Zealand Tourism and for the past two consecutive years has been awarded Qualmark Gold recognising the company’s commitment to professional, friendly standards, environment consideration and its 5-star safety record.

Kaikoura Express daily return services will operate from November to April.
