The TranzAlpine train travels between
Christchurch and Greymouth, from one coast of New Zealand to the
other , you'll see the fields of the Canterbury Plains and
farmland, followed by spectacular gorges and river valleys . Your
train then climbs into the Southern Alps before descending to the
West Coast town of Greymouth.
The Overlander journey is between Auckland -
New Zealand's largest city and Wellington - New Zealand's culture
capital. Along the way you pass the ski towns of National Park and
Ohakune .You also see the volcanic plateau, Mount Ruapehu, the
world famous Raurimu Spiral, and stunning river gorges.
Coastal Pacific (formally known as The
TranzCoastal) This train journey travels between Christchurch and
Picton. This journey is a feast of New Zealand, with the Kaikoura
mountain ranges on one side of your train and the rugged Pacific
Ocean coastline on the other. You pass through the village of
Kaikoura, where you can take in the whale watching.
