Take a day out to get a taste of the Banks Peninsula adjacent to
Christchurch City with our scenic tour.
Leaving the city and skirting around the base of the Port hills,
travel through leafy outlying suburbs, prime farmland and past
Lakes Ellesmere and Forsyth. Stop along the coast bordering
the Pacific Ocean at Birdlings Flat followed by a stop at the
historic railway station in Little River. Opportunity
to look at local arts and crafts before resuming the journey
through the Wairewa Valley. On reaching the Hilltop, there will be
a chance for photographs at some great vantage points.
Arriving in charming Akaroa there is plenty of time for
wandering around the quaint streets, enjoying the many shops and
cafes or taking a harbour cruise to see the dolphins. Call into the
Barry's Bay Cheese Factory on the return journey.
