It has been an eventful last few months for international and domestic media coverage of the region. Have a read of some key highlights over the past few months with our picks from domestic and international markets.
The Footy Show - Beau Knows
CCT worked with the NRL to promote Christchurch to Aussie NRL fans in the lead up to the Penrith Panthers game against the Warriors on the 14 May. CCT supported the segment of the show “Beau Knows”. Ex-NRL player Beau Ryan explored the city highlighting different parts of the city and talking to the public - including Richie McCaw. Average viewership of 427,000 viewers. EVA: $129,745 NZD.
The Young Adventuress / Stuff.co.nz
Liz Carlson (AKA Young Adventuress) has been named one of the “Travel Blogs to Watch” by the Huffington Post and is routinely featured on National Geographic, CNN, the BBC and Forbes. Liz has been on famil to Canterbury several times and CCT hosted her in May throughout the region. Read her Autumn Forage article she produced in partnership with her stuff.co.nz contract.
Mike Yardley – Newstalk ZB
Newstalk ZB is a nationwide talk radio network operated by NZME. On “Weekends” with Newtalk ZB freelance writer Mike Yardley hosts a regular travel segment featuring a different destination each week. CCT hosted Mike Yardley to experience the not so well-known side to Tekapo. He experience a guided tour with Alpine Recreation getting into the wild side of Tekapo.
The Telegraph (UK)
The Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph are the most popular broadsheet newspapers in the UK, delivering the latest news, sport, comment and culture to a loyal and affluent audience. With more UK subscribers than any other newspaper a combined audience of 2.1 million per day across print and online will view their piece New Zealand: a country for all seasons.
Vacations & Travel (Australia)
Vacations & Travel inspire people to discover unique destinations and show them ways to research, plan and book their dream vacation. Established in 1983 Vacations & Travel Magazine is the longest running and most well respected quarterly travel magazine in Australasia. Their New Zealand City Slickers article was a brilliant profile piece on Christchurch reborn.
