Thinking of visiting Canterbury?

Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism (CCT) encourages domestic and international travel and lifestyle media to experience our wonderful region year-round. There are varying levels of support available, so feel free to contact us at any stage to ask about assistance with activities, accommodation, interviews or leveraging our marketing channels prior to your visit.

Feeling Social?

We have a strong social media network, with passionate fans who enjoy all kinds of images from around our region - especially those big scenery shots! While you are out and about in Christchurch and Canterbury, include #christchurchnz and #canterburynz in your social media posts, to leverage off a group of people who are actively engaged with the region.

Christchurch & Canterbury Media Visits

Every year CCT invites a variety of travel and lifestyle journalists from New Zealand and the rest of the world to explore some of our region's hidden gems.

Media visits are based on various themes and are organised throughout the year. If you are interested in participating on one of our media trips please contact us directly.

International Media Programme & Explore Card

CCT works closely with Tourism New Zealand and their International Media Programme (IMP). The IMP supports international tourism media in New Zealand.

IMP activity ranges from supporting media visits and organising media discount passes to providing editorial content, contacts, images, and broadcast quality video footage. Should you qualify, we will help organise interviews, make special arrangements for television crews and photographers, and will provide advice on relevant permits.

For any further information about Tourism New Zealand's International Media Programme please contact your nearest representative.

Alternatively, Tourism New Zealand has created the Explore New Zealand card. It provides media and travel sellers with special discounted offers on accommodation and activities throughout the country. If you do not already have an Explore New Zealand card, you can apply online.
