There’s so many fantastic activities and experiences in the city to suit a wide range of story angles. Have a look through what’s on offer and be inspired by the variety of different things to see and do in Christchurch. Here's our top 20 in random order.

  1. Spend a day marvelling at amazing artworks on display at the Christchurch Art Gallery 
  2. Peddle your way around town on a SPARK Bike and see the city up close 
  3. Get inspired by huge Street Art murals around the city
  4. See incredible new architecture, both completed and on the rise 
  5. Head down the historical New Regent Street for a spot of shopping amongst the Spanish mission style buildings 
  6. Take in a show at the beautifully restored Isaac Theatre Royal 
  7. Wander around the Botanic Gardens and take in the amazing flora and fauna 
  8. Check out the view from the upstairs open air deck at Dux Central, and enjoy a delicious craft beer 
  9. Step back in time and shop at the beautifully restored Tannery arcade in Woolston 
  10. Take your bike or explore by foot around the Port Hills tracks, and get stunning views over the city, mountains and sea

  19. Have an traditional Christchurch experience, with a punt down the Avon, a tram around the city, and a double decker city bus tour
