Picking up the pace in Christchurch
4 December 2014
Christchurch Bike & Walking Tours has launched a new two-hour personalised experience of Christchurch city by foot.
The City Walking Tour gives people the opportunity to capture the creativity of the CBD rebuild, enjoy the history and beautiful gardens, in an informative, personalised, and interactive way.
Visitors to Christchurch will get a sensory experience within the CBD as local guides’ show off the best of the evolving city. There is an element of fun for everyone as they test out some of the activities on the Gapfiller sites, admire the street art and take a peek inside the Transitional Cardboard Cathedral. There is plenty of time to ask questions and discuss information on the new city vision.
A highlight for people is hearing about some of the community projects and local business stories that incorporate the strength and resilience of the people from Christchurch. It’s also a great opportunity to find out about new cafes, bars, trendy restaurants and hot shopping spots.
Christchurch Bike & Walking Tours owner Stephanie Fitts says "the tour is designed to give visitors an understanding of the changed nature of the Christchurch CBD and build excitement and interest around the future of Christchurch as a 21st century city. It is a really positive way to show-off the progress that is being made."
Tour numbers are limited to eight people to allow for a personalised experience. The tour pace is leisurely and suitable for all fitness levels and ages. Tours can start from inner city accommodation.
Tour duration is two-hours and cost $35 per adult, $20 per child. Bookings are essential by phoning 0800 733 257 or online at www.chchbiketours.co.nz
