Canterbury businesses encouraged to attend Convene South
14 August 2013
Canterbury businesses uncertain over where to hold their next conference, team-building event, or awards dinner need to put a ring around September 3 in their diaries.
That’s when the Air Force Museum in Wigram will throw open its doors for Convene South, a new one-day event aimed at showcasing the diverse range of destinations, venues, products and services available in the South Island for conferences, meetings, exhibitions, events and incentive travel programmes.
Travel trade publishing company ProMag Publishing is organising the event with the support of the Christchurch & Canterbury Convention Bureau (CCCB).
CCCB manager Caroline Blanchfield says any business administrator or meeting organiser with a conference or special event coming up should make sure they attend the expo.
“It’s going to be a great opportunity to find out more about the range of venues and services available in the Canterbury region and throughout the South Island for business events and to meet face-to-face with people in the industry who can help you pull off the perfect event.
“Essentially it’s a one-stop shop for all your business event needs so it will be time well spent,” Ms Blanchfield says.
Convene South runs from 9am to 4pm on September 3 and entry is free. More than 70 exhibitors from across the South Island will be on hand to meet visitors.
Meetings and event organisers can choose to attend either free flow on their own schedule, or pre-schedule appointments with exhibitors.
Two educational seminars at 11am and 2.45pm are also part of the free programme. Complimentary morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be served.
Event organisers who pre-register to attend Convene South will go in the draw to win an exciting prize including a luxury night at Peppers Clearwater Resort, plus a flight with Garden City Helicopters and dinner for two at the Grand Café, Christchurch Casino.
