Why we love Gatherings
The restaurant focuses on sustainable local food, with produce sourced from a farm in Swannanoa where Chef Alex Davies previously worked, and from other local Canterbury suppliers.
The celebration of using what we have and sustainability goes in to everything at Gatherings, with the furniture hand made by carpenter Tim Mc Girk who has taken the concept of Gatherings and using recycled timbers has created furniture which can only be described as art.
All plates and crockery come from artisans throughout New Zealand. The restaurant is adorned with plants and images from local artists, that sets the scene for the Gatherings philosophy.
The menu is every changing due to sourcing and celebrating local produce- but you can experience it all with a set five course menu for $60. Small platters and a lunch menu are also available.
