Hens Weekend Getaway In North Canterbury

Wine, food, pampering, great company and laughter sum up the perfect Hens weekend and the ultimate destination to celebrate life before marriage has to be North Canterbury.

Adrenalin for the Hen

Hens will be giddy with excitement with the anticipation of a girlie getaway. Kick the weekend off with a pinch of 360 degree spins on a jet boat accompanied by a splash of fear on a bungy jump topped of splattering of mud carving it up on a quad bike. Tasks will ensure the hen is fully prepared for future life challenges.

Exercise the Hen

To prepare for the weekend ahead a spot of exercise will be required. Hire a bike and check out the trails. For super active Hens explore the wide variety of mountain bike tracks traversing the forest. For Hens that prefer a milder form of exercise, hire a pedal pop and explore the village at leisure with a spot of shopping and couple of coffees on the side.

Pamper the Hen

The thermal waters of Hanmer Springs have been recognised for over a century as a place to wash away the worries and unwind. The tranquil surroundings and thermal waters will provide the Hen with hours of relaxation. Complete the day with an indulgent treatment at the Day Spa to ensure the Hen is fully stress-free before the big day.

Water and feed the Hen

It should now be time for a well-deserved drink! Hens should prepare themselves for an evening of wining, dining and belly aching laughing at one of the delectable watering holes/restaurants in the village. With many located just a stone’s throw away from one another – why not try a dine around!

After your mini break in Hanmer and on the road back to Christchurch …

Water the Hen again

The wineries of North Canterbury offer several cellar door tasting options to whet the palette. After sampling the regional specialities of Pinot Noir and Riesling, it’ll be time to dine on the award winning cuisine at Pegasus Bay. Hens should prepare themselves for a long alfresco lunch in the sheltered garden surroundings. With the food and wine flowing be sure to have sorted a sober driver!
