Sure to Rise Christchurch
Christchurch Sure to Rise Tea Towel Design
A lucky group of Australian professional conference organisers
got a taste of Canterbury's Cup & Show Week celebrations during
a special luncheon in Sydney last month.
The lunch, at Etch Restaurant, owned by celebrated Kiwi chef
Justin North, was held on Cup Day and saw invited guests treated to
a tasting menu matched with top South Island wines. Sure to Rise
goody bags given out to each guest contained the Edmonds 'Sure
To Rise' Cookery Book and a tea-towel with the words
'Christchurch - Sure To Rise' printed on the image of the
ChristChurch Cathedral.
The Bureau's Australian business development manager Jan
Whiteside co-hosted the lunch along with Bureau Manager Caroline
Blanchfield and Janelle Brooking, from Vbase. Caroline and Janelle
were able to give guests an up-date on Christchurch's recovery and
an outline of what the future holds for the city.
The lunch was a great success, with guests particularly enjoying
the opportunity to learn more about Christchurch's planned
comeback.
