Conference Innovators achieves carboNZero certification

Conference Innovators has become the first New Zealand
Professional Conference Organising Company to achieve carboNZero
CertTMsmall enterprise certification.
To obtain a carboNZero certification the company worked with the
team at Landcare Research's carboNZero programme who assisted,
cajoled and supported the process of measuring their greenhouse gas
(GHG) emissions (carbon footprint) and helped to set up a process
to manage (reduce) and mitigate (offset) their remaining
unavoidable emissions.
Joy Mehlhopt is the Conference Innovators carboNZero certification
champion. Her advice for those considering the process is to
be aware that a real commitment of time and of energy is required
to complete the process. However once it is complete there is
a great sense of achievement.
carboNZero certification is valid for 12 months and requires an
independent verification audit each year to ensure that the
company is adhering to its commitments around managing and reducing
GHG emissions.
Conference Innovator staff members are also committed to
assisting clients to reduce GHG emissions generated by their
event.
