Clearview Lodge achieves Enviro-Gold award
- February 2010 -
Clearview Lodge owners and operators, Robin and Sue Clements
were thrilled to be awarded Enviro‐Gold from Qualmark, to go with
their 5‐Star Guest & Hosted rating.
"We designed Clearview Lodge with the environment in mind,
including solar water heating, double‐glazing and a self-contained
water treatment plant. Along with a raft of energy and water saving
measures and extensive recycling and composting, we are extremely
pleased that our efforts have been officially recognised" said
Robin Clements.
"Visitors are increasingly looking at the environmental impact
their holidays have, so guests can stay at Clearview Lodge with
confidence that we are making a meaningful effort," says Sue
Clements.
Qualmark is New Zealand tourism's official quality accreditation
programme. The launch of Qualmark Green enviro-ratings in 2008 made
Qualmark the world's first fully‐integrated environmental and
quality accreditation programme for tourism.
The five key assessment areas for the Qualmark Green
enviro‐ratings are energy efficiency, waste reduction, water
management, and involvement in conservation and community
activities.
Clearview Lodge is an ideal incentive and small meeting base. It
was purpose built in 2001 in French-Chateau style and offers luxury
bed and breakfast accommodation, just 10 minutes from the airport
and 15 minutes to the central city. The estate enjoys its own Pinot
Noir with 10 acres of vineyard, olive grove and peaceful
garden.
