Bureau networks at Christchurch’s Kate Sheppard House
More than 40 delighted guests enjoyed a quintessential spring
garden cocktail party at Kate Sheppard House, Fendalton in early
November.
The occasion was the Bureau's networking function for members,
which provided everyone a chance to catch up and relax. The
Bureau's Caroline Blanchfield and Jan Whiteside hosted the party
and John and Margaret Woolcott, of Playtime Promotions, sponsored
the entertainment, which was provided by the jazz quartet
Frictionless. Continental catered in fine style with top local
wines and inventive canapes served in the garden
The century-old Kate Sheppard House is a heritage One listed
property, which sustained only minor damage in the earthquakes. It
has a silk-lined marquee set up permanently within the extensive
gardens through the summer months and is ideal for functions.
This beautifully presented private home and expansive
garden was a residence of Kate Sheppard, who led New Zealand
to become the first country in the world to give women the vote.
The grand and elegant home is suitable for small meetings, private
lunches and dinners - using either a formal dining, sitting
room or lounge areas, while the award-winning garden is ideal for
guests to explore and enjoy.
Special thanks to Continental and Playtime Promotions
