At Melton Estate we serve great food that is matched to our
handcrafted boutique wines. Visitors can sample local wines that
include: Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and a
new Sparkling Riesling known as 'Summer Love '. Wine tasting
amongst the vines is a great way to learn more about New Zealand
wines.
Melton Estate was fortunate to have escaped any damage due to the
recent Christchurch earthquake and is fully operational.
Melton Estate is new vineyard cafe and event venue set within a
12 acre vineyard located in West Melton (to west of Christchurch
City off SH1 South and SH73 West). Melton Estate is a 20 minute
drive from the Christchurch CBD, and only 10 minutes from the
airport. The venue has been purposely developed to host conference
dinners, conventions and partner lunch events. The 'New Zealand
Wine Experience ' that international (and domestic) delegates are
seeking is a key feature of our offering. Guests have the
opportunity to walk amongst the vines, sample the wines, and even
participate in wine tasting with the venue owners. Having a
boutique winery so close to Christchurch makes Melton Estate the
ideal choice as a convention dinner option or partner excursion. A
full restaurant service is available, meaning Melton Estate can
arrange all aspects of the event as a complete service to the
convention manager. This can include banquet style meal service,
arranging transport, music / entertainment and any other items
required.
Directions
From Christchurch CBD - head west through Riccarton on to the West Coast Road (SH 73). Go through Yaldhurst and at West Melton turn left on to Weedons Ross Road. Melton Estate is 2km on you left on Johnson Road.If you are travelling on the Main South Road (SH1), Weedons Ross Road is between Rolleston and Templeton.
