Located at the historic Base Wigram, the Air Force Museum of New
Zealand holds a superb array of exhibits highlighting the story of
our Air Force and our people. With over 28 historic aircraft on
display, interactive simulators, behind the scenes tours and
children 's activities the Air Force Museum has something for
everyone.
The Air Force Museum is fortunate to have escaped any major
damage from the Christchurch earthquake and is fully
operational.
The Air Force Museum of New Zealand offers a variety of function
venues that cater of the most discerning client. The most popular
of these is the 'Aircraft Hall ' which caters comfortably for up to
650 seated diners. Nationally recognised artists have developed
polished and very entertaining material specifically for this
venue. The overall themeing around twelve wonderfully restored
aircraft, that used to grace the skies over Christchurch, remains
unrivalled. The Atrium is an ideal cocktail or dinner venue. The
soaring Atrium features four generations of aircraft from a 1913
Bleriot to a more modern Skyhawk. The remaining venues include the
'Gentlemen 's Club ' style of the Brevet Lounge, a fully equipped
110 seat theatre and lecture room, and the smaller conference room.
With free onsite car parking for up to 140 cars we offer
flexibility to cater for a diverse range of events.

The Air Force Museum of New Zealand is located just south of the Sockburn overbridge on State Highway 1. It is on the main bus route from the city - catch either No.5, No.81 or Metro Star bus.
