Whilst it now offers modern and contemporary facilities, it
maintains its fantastic heritage with preservation of many features
of yesteryear, including a hitching post and sole surviving gas
lamp. To undertake the refurbishment, a high level of consultation
with the Historic Places Trust and Christchurch City Council was
undertaken to ensure that none of the heritage features were
compromised.
The Canterbury Club has affiliate Clubs around the
world and offers a very sophisticated and traditional
environment for high end functions and corporate hosting.
