CHRISTCHURCH EARTHQUAKE UPDATE:
The International Antarctic Centre was fortunate to have escaped
any damage and is fully operational.
This stunning fully licensed venue is part of the award-winning
International Antarctic Centre visitor attraction and provides
superb theming opportunities and fascinating experiences of life on
the frozen continent. The venue also offers the option of dining
with the Little Blue Penguins in The New Zealand Penguin Encounter,
New Zealand's only indoor/outdoor penguin encounter. It is located
opposite Christchurch's International Airport, and just 20 minutes'
from the city centre.
Suitable for all types of social and business functions, the
International Antarctic Centre offers five separate meeting and
function areas including two modern, private conference rooms as
well as outdoor sites for silk-lined marquees. Additional theming
touches might include: - husky dogs to welcome guests - Antarctic
Centre characters - Hägglund all-terrain, amphibian vehicle rides -
ice bars and cool cocktails - the "snow storm experience" - ice
