Update on Conferencing in Christchurch

Christchurch has always led the way in terms of conferencing and business tourism in New Zealand, however the earthquake of 22 February 2011 has certainly taken a toll on our central city conference venues and our hotel accommodation but fortunately conference and exhibition venues outside of the central business district have come through unscathed and are up and running as normal. Our Convention Bureau is working with key business partners to recover, rebuild and to create an even better, stronger, and more vibrant city centre.

Lots of options just outside the city

For smaller conferences we also have fantastic facilities available at some of our most popular regional destinations, places like Hanmer Springs, Ashburton,  Methven, and Terrace Downs . All of these destinations are an easy drive from Christchurch International Airport and also offer a superb chance to combine business and pleasure because not only do they have excellent conferencing facilities but they also offer guests a great array of activities and experiences.
