1. Antigua Boat Sheds
These beautiful boat sheds have been a part of Christchurch history for over 130 years and are classified as a category 1 historic building. The contrast between the green and white striped buildings and the colourful canoes that line the deck will really make your pic stand out on the Instagram feed!
HOT TIP - Jump in a boat or take a Punt to get some great shots along the Avon River.
2. New Brighton Pier
There's no better place in Christchurch to capture a stunning sunrise. You never know what colours will come out to play! Mix that with the blue of the ocean, the beautiful architecture of the pier and you have the makings of a hit Instagram pic.
HOT TIP - The colours that show up at sunrise are ever changing - we would highly suggest a time lapse of this magical event.
3. C1 Espresso
Get your daily fix of coffee while undertaking your own mini Instagram shoot. There is so much cool stuff to see (and eat) at C1 Espresso - the hardest part will be choosing which shot to post!
HOT TIP - The sliders and curly fries are delivered through pneumatic tubes across the ceiling - which makes for a fun dining experience.
4. Street Art
Christchurch is spoilt for choice with amazing street art splashed across the central city. Colourful and vibrant works of art can be found on almost every corner. Every mural is totally Instagram worthy - why not post more than one?

5. Peacock Fountain / Botanic Gardens
The Christchurch Botanic Gardens are an Instagrammers dream! From the Peacock Fountain to the Native Ferns Garden, there are photo opportunities at every turn. Throughout spring and summer, the Rose Garden is in full bloom with every colour of the rainbow (plus all the shades in between) on show.
HOT TIP - Make sure to peek inside the Glasshouse - you wont regret it.
6. Port Hills
No matter where you go on the Port Hills, there is an epic view waiting for you. Sunrise, sunset or even the middle of the day, it's always a good time to venture up the hills with your camera and a few friends.
HOT TIP - Turn around. Face one way and you are greeted by the vast city below, turn the other way and you have Lyttelton Harbour and stunning Banks Peninsula at your feet.
7. New Regent Street
The most colourful and fun street in all of Christchurch is a must see and must photograph spot! The paved street is lined with pastel coloured buildings with the cutest balconies - flowers pots and fairy lights included! The iconic Christchurch Tram runs right down the centre, so if you time it right you can capture an awesome shot that really showcases the city.
HOT TIP - Grap a coffee from the Caffeine Laboratory and sweet treat from Mrs Higgins Cookies while you wait for the Tram to roll down the street.
8. Godley Head
Get your walking shoes on and set out on the Godley Head walking track for epic views as far as the eye can see. There will be photo opportunities at every step so make sure you have a full battery for your journey. Sunrise is a great time to get some Instagram worthy shots - bound to score you lots of 'likes'!
HOT TIP - Take a backpack for your water, extra camera batteries and a snack for the walk.
9. Bridge Of Remembrance
One of the most important landmarks in Christchurch, the Bridge of Remembrance is not only beautiful, but full of history. Our soldiers are honoured through this memorial and we are reminded of their sacrifice everyday. With the Avon River running under the bridge there are a number of different angles from where you can choose to capture this stunning structure.
HOT TIP - Take a moment to read the plaques and understand what this bridge represents - it may help with writing your Instagram caption.
10. The Christchurch Art Gallery
The exterior of the Christchurch Art Gallery is equally as impressive as the works of art it houses inside. This building is just one example of the modern architecture adopted by the city to sit along side the number of heritage buildings dotted around the CBD.
HOT TIP - The building produces amazing reflections - use these to put an artistic spin on your Instagram pic.
