Alpine Recreation - Snowshoeing and New Track
Strap on some snowshoes and explore the white world of the high
country!
Snowshoeing - Lake Tekapo High Country
Why hang up your tramping boots in winter? What better way to
escape the city than to strap on some snowshoes and explore the
transformed white world of our high country. Go with a guide, who
will lead you along ridges, up peaks for grand views of the
Southern Alps and along giggling mountain streams, decorated with
amazing ice formations. Each day the refreshment of the exercise is
capped off with relaxation beside a warm fire in a cosy mountain
hut, with meals cooked for you.
Aoraki Mt Cook Trek
Himalayan proportions at your doorstep! Confront the mighty
Caroline Face of Aoraki Mount Cook while climbing high above the
Tasman Glacier to the private Caroline Hut. This is a special place
in the topuni area of the national park, an area sacred to the Ngai
Tahu tribe of New Zealand's South Island. It's no wonder, because
you can't help but be awed by being so close to such a powerful
mountain. One night is spent in the cosy mountain hut, a fantastic
vantage point for keen photographers to capture the magic morning
and evening lights on Aoraki and Mount Tasman. You need to have
previous overnight tramping experience and be good on you feet.
