Akaroa Dolphins Introduces New Cruise Boat
- March 2010 -
Akaroa Dolphins is defying the recession and positioning itself
for an upswing in tourist numbers.
For a number of years, Akaroa
Dolphins has been introducing visitors to the delights of
Akaroa harbour and its geology, history and wildlife. The growth in
their business has resulted in the commissioning of a new larger
vessel, Into the Blue, to their fleet, increasing their
guests capacity to 50 per sailing.
Owners Hugh and Pip Waghorn and Craig and Georgie Rhodes are
descendents of our earliest settlers and they have in depth
knowledge of Banks Peninsula which they and their crew impart to
their eager guests on board.
The new vessel is very fuel efficient and quiet minimising the
impact on the environment and providing a very pleasant cruise
experience. Even though Into the Blue is bigger, Akaroa
Dolphins continue to offer a more intimate cruise style and
personal hosting on board.
Into the Blue is also ideal for tour groups, conference
programmes and wedding parties, either on scheduled cruises or
under private charter, and the original boat, Akaroa
Dolphin is now available for Fishing Charters.
Akaroa Dolphins also operates kayak, paddle boat and bike hire
from their office and shop on the waterfront at 65 Beach Road.
