Rugby World Cup fever kicks off
Christchurch, New Zealand's home of rugby, will see some great
action in the Rugby World Cup 2011 and the city is geared up to
host teams and many thousands of fans.
Five pool matches will be hosted in the city, building up to the
excitement of the two Christchurch quarterfinals in early
October.
All of these games will be played at Stadium Christchurch, which
will be keen to show off a $60 million revamp. Some memorable
national and international games have been played at the stadium
over the years, and Rugby World Cup 2011 will be the highlight in
the stadium's history.
Forty five thousand people will be able to attend each Rugby
World Cup 2011 game at Stadium Christchurch and see the very best
that rugby has to offer. Those not attending the games at
Stadium Christchurch will still be able to take in all the action
at one of the Fan Zones that will be set up around the city to
create a festival atmosphere and celebrate all that the Tournament
has to offer.
