Marketing Update
The best of New Zealand can be experienced in Christchurch &
Canterbury - and this is a message that we're consistently
reinforcing through the extensive campaign activity being
undertaken right now. The opportunity to create two television
commercials (from next week these can be viewed from our website),
a raft of online creative, magazine advertisements and out of
office screen creative has been fantastic - and has come about as a
result of some sensational collaboration with our airline partners
(Air New Zealand, Jetstar and Pacific Blue - and we are also in
discussions now with Emirates); outstanding support from our
business partners - thank you; a creative agency that has 'done
backward flips and cartwheels' to meet some challenging deadlines;
fantastic support from Tourism New Zealand and a willingness
between the other regions to work together in presenting New
Zealand as the most captivating holiday destination for
Australians. That the best of New Zealand is here makes
Christchurch & Canterbury the obvious choice! Within this
networker you will see there is alot going on. If you have queries
regarding the campaigning or it simply doesn't make sense (there
is, afterall, alot going on) please just call me.
And partnering the campaign activity is a communications plan
which utilises social media channels as well as PR support both
locally and from Australia - all very exciting and we're certainly
seeing the results. Website visitation has doubled since the
campaigning commenced and our Australian visitors now make up close
to 50% of those people who visit the site. That said, the personal
experience can never be underestimated and accordingly famil
activity is a core focus within the team. Encouragingly the
response from invited media is very positive and already we're
seeing the spinoff of having a PR agent based in Sydney. One of
Australia's leading freelance journalists has agreed to visit
Christchurch for 5 days during Ellerslie International Flower
Show.
However it's not all about campaigning. There is alot of
preparation being undertaken for RWC2011 (with Rowan taking
on a special projects role once Tania returns from maternity
leave), trade famils, a raft of activity for Great Wine Capitals,
cruise coordination, constant optimisation and refinement of the
website and regular meetings and updates with business
partners.
CCT has entered into a 3 year partnership with Apex; who is
supplying the vehicles we use for transporting visiting media,
trade and VIP's. We are delighted to have the support and
involvement of NZ's largest privately owned company with head
office in Christchurch.
