For more than 120 years the Centre of Contemporary Art has acted as one of New Zealand’s most significant art institutions. Created in conjunction with such people as Richard Taylor of Weta Worshops/Lord of the Rings fame and the John Brtitten Family.
“Talking seats” tell the story of the struggles with dyslexia.
Located at the Arts Centre (formerly Canterbury College), Worcester Boulevard, where New Zealand’s most famous scientist, Lord Ernest Rutherford, studied. The Den was a cloakroom in the corner of the main quadrangle and he used it to conduct experiments. Later Lord Rutherford went on to split the atom, work out the structure of the atom and explain radioactivity.
